By Popular Demand, Neumann Fine Art T Shirts are Now Available in Black

When I introduced my Neumann Fine Art T Shirts I was unsure how popular they would be. I test marketed them in one color, white, only. My intent was to keep things simple until I knew how the product would be received. Now that I have confidence based on successful sales history, and because you asked for it, I have expanded the T Shirt line to include two color options. White or Black in Women’s and Men’s sizes from small to 2XL.

The Women’s shirts feature a more fitted shape. All shirts are printed in full color on premium 100% cotton stock. Online ordering is secure and easy by credit card or Paypal.

My latest painting, Holly Beach, is Louisiana bound

I'm pleased to announce that Juror Marilyn Laufer, Director Emerita at the Julie Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University, has selected my oil painting Holly Beach, 24 x 48, to be a part of the 32nd September Competition at Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria, LA. The opening is July 12th. The show will run through October 24, 2019.

This will be the second time I have participated in The Alexandria Museum of Art’s annual September Competition. Last year I was honored that my painting Sands Motel was awarded the Third Place prize by Juror William U. Eiland, Director of the Georgia Museum of Art at The University of Georgia.

This painting of Holly Beach, a.k.a. The Cajun Riviera, came about because of my visit to Louisiana to attend the opening reception for the aforementioned show. Whenever I travel for business or pleasure I try to take time to discover local culture and find inspiration for my artwork. On this trip last July I was hoping to combine my exploration with a relaxing day at the beach. I headed south to Holly Beach, a place I knew of only from the name on the map. With onshore thunderstorms, the weather did not allow for a beach day, however I was rewarded with the extraordinary light shining on this little town clinging precariously to a thin strip of sand on the Gulf Coast. The ominous clouds looming over the houses, R.V.s, and campers created the perfect narrative of climate change and of Vanishing America.

Most of my photos from my travels never get translated into paint. As I shot the reference photos from that beach, I knew that this scene was going to become a painting.

After Dark 8, at Greg Moon Art March 23 - April 13, 2019

I’m honored to be a part of After Dark 8, a National Juried Exhibition with a nocturnal or dark theme at Greg Moon Art, which opened on Saturday March 23rd .

The opening for this eighth annual event was a packed house. I was delighted to attend the reception and see my 2 pieces, The West, oil, 30 x 40, and Twilight II, oil, 30 x 42, featured prominently in the front room of the two room gallery. My painting The West was printed in color in a 4 page center spread article about the show in Tempo, the Arts and Entertainment Magazine of The Taos News.

“We juried 465 submissions from 27 states and selected 47 pieces for inclusion in this show that’s going to throw a little shade – pun intended – on the bright light of Taos as an art destination,”  said gallery owner Greg Moon, who co-curated the show with Taos business luminary and designer Janet Webb and artist Isabel Samaras.

The exhibition, which features a diverse group of artists working in all paint media, printmaking, sculpture, photography, mixed media and assemblage, will run though

Representing the West, A New Frontier Exhibition

Here I am the Sangre de Christo Arts Center with my 2 paintings that were juried into this exiting show. I was delighted and inspired by the diversity of high caliber work in this exhibition. Most of the work in the show is far less traditional in media and execution than my stuff, which makes me doubly honored to be a part of this terrific show. Kudos to Juror Tony Ortega for putting together the work of so many great artists who exemplify the best of contemporary western art.
